Before I pick up, what do I need to prepare?

Uncategorised

Century Caravans will conduct a series of pre-delivery inspections before handover. At the same time, you will also need to prepare your vehicle prior to pick up:

Tow Bar & 7-Pin Plug
Please ensure your vehicle is fitted with a tow bar and a standard 7-pin plug in accordance with Australian standards. These can be installed by any professional tow bar shop.

DO35 Coupling (If Applicable)
If you have purchased a caravan fitted with a DO35 coupling, please remove the existing 50mm tow ball from your vehicle before pick up, leaving only the tow hitch receiver in place. We will install the DO35-compatible tow pin for you at handover.

Brake Controller
Please ensure your vehicle is fitted with a brake controller. Without a brake controller, you will not be able to activate the caravan’s electric brakes. In some cases, certain 7-pin wiring setups may provide constant power, which can cause the brakes to remain engaged.
We highly recommend installing a REDARC brake controller.

Anderson Plug & DC to DC (If Applicable)
Most of our caravans are fitted with an Anderson plug. If you would like to charge the caravan battery while driving, please arrange for an auto electrician to install an Anderson plug on your vehicle.
Some models are not fitted with a DC to DC charger. In this case, you will need to install a DC to DC charger on your vehicle side or contact us to arrange installation. This is not mandatory, but it helps protect your battery from overcharging.

Final Reminder:
If your caravan is wider than your vehicle, you may be legally required to install extended towing mirrors. Please ensure compliance with Australian road regulations before collection.

We hope you enjoy your journey.
Century Caravans wishes you a safe and pleasant trip ahead.
